Opéra grand avignon - kor’sia (2024)
original music & sound design
Olympiade is about time, its nature and its manifestations. How can we enrich our perception of time by moving beyond our typically Western approach? How can we broaden our horizons to gain a different understanding of space-time and its implications?
Somewhere between a battlefield and a playground, an athletics track provides the setting for these questions. With its lanes separated by white lines that evoke the irrefutable, solitary singularity of every being who walks it, the track is animated by bodies that, in dancing, travel through time as well as space.
Through the choreography conceived by Antonio De Rosa and Mattia Russo, creators of KOR’SIA, the Ballet de l’Opéra Grand Avignon dances the possibility of a new relationship with time: past and present follow one another without any one dimension prevailing. Dance composes trajectories that have neither beginning nor end, where individual and collective identities merge and overlap.
Spectacle présenté en coréalisation avec Les Hivernales CDCN d’Avignon.
